Best Practices in Addressing Challenges of COVID-19

Posted

This certainly has been a challenging week as we deal with the impact of the new coronavirus in our professional and personal lives.  And, the days ahead will continue to tax our staffs, families and communities.

Times like this serve as a reminder of the critical role local newspapers play in our communities by providing the most important facts and information to our local citizens and businesses.

America’s Newspapers is committed to supporting its members during this time by providing a wealth of resources to help you navigate through these challenging times.  We have created a dedicated page on our website at http://www.newspapers.org/americas-newspapers/coronavirus/ for you to turn to for information about this pandemic.

Earlier today we hosted a webinar with our partners at Seyfarth Shaw LLC dealing with employer challenges related to the new coronavirus.  Nearly 400 executives took part in that webinar. If you missed it, don't worry.  We are making the information available to all members.

Several documents from Seyfarth Shaw have already been posted to our coronavirus page and we soon will also be posting takeaways from the webinar, as well as a link to the recording itself.

Additionally, we are providing a summary of resources and best practices on how some of our members are covering the pandemic and communicating plans to their readers and advertisers.  We invite you to share your plans with us by sending them to Cindy Durham at cdurham@newspapers.org.

As always, we invite your feedback and thank you for being members of America’s Newspapers.
